If a hotel, restaurant, and butterfly garden aren’t enough to keep you busy during your next layover, Singapore’s renowned Changi Airport has a thrilling new addition for adventure-seeking travelers.
Passengers will be able to use [email protected], a state-of-the-art rock climbing facility at Changi Airport’s Terminal 3 starting this week. The Rock School of Singapore will operate the facility, which features a bouldering wall and a 26-foot rock climbing wall suitable for visitors of all skill levels, including families and children as young as two years old.
In the case that they forgot to pack their own, tourists can also rent climbing shoes and equipment. The [email protected] website has all of the information you need. A package for unattended adult climbing begins at about $7.50 USD.
For visitors with specific needs, the rock climbing facility offers additional programming run by staff members with specialized training.
“At Changi Airport, we’re constantly looking for ways to delight our visitors and inject excitement into our offerings,” Phau Hui Hoon the General Manager of Landside Concessions at Changi Airport Group in a statement. “[email protected] is the latest addition to Changi Airport’s suite of leisure and entertainment offerings and will offer a fun and challenging experience to our passengers and visitors. We hope both new and experienced climbers will enjoy scaling new heights with us.”
According to Changi Airport, it handled more than 32 million passengers in 2022. To mark Disney’s 100th anniversary, Changi Airport recently opened a new Disney-themed exhibition in addition to the new climbing facility. The exhibition “Disney 100: Experience Wonder At Jewel” runs until April 9.
