JetBlue Is Upgrading Its Loyalty Program

With the recently announced update to its TrueBlue loyalty program, JetBlue is adding new opportunities to earn points and status.

“We’re rolling out a bigger, better, bluer TrueBlue program this spring that’s designed to meet the needs – and exceed the expectations – of more customers, whether they travel once a week, or just once in a while,” Jayne O’Brien, the head of marketing and loyalty at JetBlue, said in a statement provided to Travel + Leisure. “No two travelers are alike, which is why we’ve redesigned TrueBlue to let customers customize their perks as they soar toward Mosaic status, choosing the ones that are most valuable to them along the way.”

The updated program, which is expected to go into effect in spring 2023, will use a “tile” system to track and assess a client’s progress toward Mosaic status. Under the “Perks You Pick” program, travelers who work their way up to Mosaic status will now be able to select a prize for every 10 tiles they achieve.

These benefits include access to expedited security line, an in-flight alcoholic beverage, a one-time 2X point incentive toward a JetBlue Vacations package or a 5,000 point bonus (except for Basic Blue ticketed passengers).

Every 10 tiles up to 50, customers can choose a new benefit. For every $100 spent on certain travel-related purchases such as hotels, cars, cruises and more, travelers can earn tiles. Customers will also earn one tile for every $1,000 charged to a JetBlue credit card.

After reaching Mosaic status, travelers are placed into four categories. Benefits in the first tier, which includes 50 tiles, include two free checked bags, free beer, wine and liquor, “Even More Space” seats at check-in, free same-day switches, priority security and more.

Travelers can now select an Even More Space seat while making their reservations on the second tier, which is 100 tiles. Four Mint class enhancements are available to passengers on the third tier, which is 150 tiles. The fourth tier, which is 250 tiles, offers clients two more Mint upgrades and points that may be exchanged for four free seats on a BLADE Airport helicopter transfer between Manhattan and one of the international airports in the New York City region.

The new program was introduced after JetBlue launched Mosaic+ last year. That elite tier, which offered free upgrades to Mint, will expire at the end of 2022.
